A vintage Turkish Oushak carpet from the mid-20th century in room size format. This unusual western Turkish Oushak is delineated in the Heriz manner with a stepped soft orange pendant medallion on a camel-beige ground accented with floating vegetal motives including cypresses and weeping willows. The triangular corner pieces are even more in the Heriz style. The back and forth, ebb and flow, of patterns from Persia to Turkey, is characteristic of much 20th-century Oushak weaving.
