A wool pile on a cotton foundation. Lions, leopards, spotted deer, serpents, cloud bands, and animal combats are worked into a palmette-and-vinery allover pattern on a navy field. Some palmettes also host small animals, and the palmettes are generally of the ragged type. A pale blue-grey main border is enlivened by reversing petal palmettes and small paired animals, with oblique petal-palmette corner treatments.
