A wool pile of symmetric knots on a mixed wool and cotton foundation. Two columns each of seven Memling guls forming a nearly square lattice decorate the near black field of this rustic, though condition compromised, kellegi (long rug) probably woven by a Kurdish group in the Caucasus or adjacent northwestern Persia. Ecru main border of variously colored stars. The single weft and part cotton warp materials point toward a Kurdish weaver.
