An antique East Turkestan Khotan rug. Vases at each end of the chocolate ground sprout angular pomegranate trees growing the full length of the field. The vase and pomegranate motif is a classic Xinjiang carpet concept in use on both Khotan and Yarkand rugs. The main border modules of lozenges with hooked end motives has a faintly Turkmen appeal.
