A wool pile with asymmetric knots rests on a cotton foundation. Three roughly similar still-life motifs-vases, trays on stands, and boxed books are arranged along the center of the rust-colored field, accented with yellow, pale blue, pale green, and black. The borders feature an innermost T-fret design, an outermost chain of rosettes in rayed octagons, and additional patterns in between, including one in the J-Turkmen style. Still-life rugs are a distinctive specialty of Khotan craftsmanship.
