An antique Indian Lahore carpet. This northern Indian city carpet with a light blue field is inspired by 16th century Persian prototypes with palmettes, cloud bands, and vines swirling about an imaginary focus. The ivory border connects additional palmettes with wide-spreading leafy arabesques.
