An antique Persian Heriz Pictorial rug. En suite to rug # 20091. The imperial Russian Czar and Czarina, in lavish apparel, are looking straight ahead while enthroned on a red background with tricolor Russian flags flying stiffly behind. The execution is more rustic than urban and the weaver must have seen a postcard or magazine illustration. Could be posted Revolution.
