A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The sand ground depicts Layla to the left and her star-crossed lover Majnun at the right, surrounded by his company of wild animals. A weeping willow (Bid Majnun) shades Majnun, while birds perch and fly above. From Nizami’s Layla and Majnun poem. Rosettes decorate the near black main border. Moderately light tonality with pistachio, beige, tan, and chocolate accents. Fine, Lavar quality.
