A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The beige ground depicts an eagle with spread wings, grasping a draped American flag in its talons. This is clearly a relic from earlier times when many American tourists visited Iran and left with rug mementos like this. The near-black border features rosettes and lancet leaves.
