This is a firmly woven village rug from the Kurdish Bidjar area with a close Herati pattern on an abrashed grey field and a red-brown simple floating rosette border which abrashes toward one end. All Bidjars are Kurdish and there trade term ‘Kurd Bidjar’ simply refers to a rustic, non-urban place of origin.
