A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The saturated cochineal red ground depicts the seated, youthful dervish Nur ‘Ali Shah, shown with a protective axe and kashkul (begging bowl), resting on an animal-skin prayer mat before a small pond with fishes and a duck. An elliptical ecru border frames the dervish and is repeated in the inner border. The main border features inscription cartouches and quadrilobe roundels.
