An antique Persian Mahal carpet. Sometimes the border dominates, sometimes the field. Here palmettes occupy almost the entire border. The field with a pattern of concave lozenges is soft and recedes behind the frame. The crispness of the border motif outlines contrasts effectively with the soft-focus in the field.  Definitely looks different and quite contempt.
