A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. A tremendously bold and simplified pattern of giant, bitonal slanted leaves, a blank central cartouche, exuberate petal palmettes and eight five-petal ecru rosettes, is centered on the brilliant old gold field, strongly reminiscent of the best Ziegler Sultanabad work. Slate strip style border of stencil palmettes and rosettes plays second fiddle to the field.
