An antique Persian Northwest rug. A stripe or ‘cane’ design in graphic black and white is decorated by tiny red/yellow sinekli (fly spots) and is framed by an emphatically serrated, faceted vine marking out small flower reserves. This attractive scatter could have been woven anywhere in northwest Persia.
