An antique Persian Heriz rug. This all-natural dye rural carpet from NW Persia has a madder tomato red end-stepped hexagonal field centered by a navy indigo octogramme medallion with light blue ragged palmette pendants. The corners are mustard and the border also navy, both with semi-geometric patterns of vegetal origin. The weave is medium coarse, but the carpet is solidly made with locally-sourced pile wool.
