An antique Persian Shiraz Square rug. Chickens are everywhere in this south Persian Khamseh tribal scatter woven near Shiraz city. The birds run up the sides and across the ivory field ends and settle in the stepped pole medallions of the graphite field. The pale blue-grey border has only botehs and lozenge rosettes, no chickens.
