Antique Persian Tabriz Carpet

An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. Adapted directly from a classical 17th century Kerman carpet published in illustrated carpet books, this NW Persian urban room size carpet displays a shaped cartouche pattern in brick, charcoal, sand, buff, blue-grey and old ivory with enclosed cypresses, prunus sprays and palmettes. The main border displays half escutcheon palmettes lining the inner and outer edges.
