An antique Persian Yazd Silk Textile. The scarlet field displays three cypresses, the central one larger and vertically striped, and the side trees are smaller and bird-topped. Two further bulbuls perch at the point of the central cypress and two additional lesser cypresses decorate the spandrels above the niche-shaped field. The bottom border is lacking, but the piece is inscribed. This type of silk ikat velvet is characteristic of Yazd in SE Persia.
