A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The straw field displays a classic Ottoman repeating, columnar design of triple spots and double tiger stripes. Originally this was a Buddhist pattern adopted by the ancestral Turks in Central Asia. Straw strip style border with beveled rectangular cartouches separated by double rows of short triangle chains. Although the pattern is classic, it is not found on many Oushaks of the later 19th century.
