A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The Achaemenian king Xerxes is depicted seated on an elaborately carved throne, holding a staff and cup, with a pseudo-Cuneiform identifying inscription above. The panel features an abrashed light blue ground. Xerxes is heavily bearded and dressed in a cream robe with detailed creases. He wears a fictional Achaemenid crown on his head.
