Tribal Vintage Turkish Anatolian Room Size Carpet

Wool symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The closely abrashed brown field displays two columns of three vertically extended and lavishly hooked square medallions in sand and charcoal-slate, with enclosed small squares. The narrow red border also divides the field and shows a running tendril with reversing blossoms. Kars was originally part of the Kazak district and the bold drawing is still evident.
