A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a wool foundation. Woven just after the Soviets were expelled, “War Rugs” from Afghanistan were extremely popular. The old ivory ground is centered by a map of Afghanistan and decorated with a tank, helicopter and weapons. In the field are a Kalashnikov rifle, grenades, a rocket launder, helicopters and a pistol. More tanks in the downward chevron at the top. Vertical format.
