A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a wool foundation. Russo-Afghan war rugs are relatively popular, but this is apparently the only known door surround with a helicopter and automobile theme, on a red ground. The long tassels are wool and their wrapped cords are continuations of the appropriate warps. An interesting piece of tribal work showing that nomadic weavers can turn any theme to their artistic advantage.
