A vintage European Oushak large carpet. The light colors of this decorative Oushak belie the wild central cartouche medallion with its bird head diagonal corner extenders and the undulating snake pattern of the main border. Soft and bold, subdued and unrestrained. The zig-zag outer surround echoes the main band, but on a smaller scale. The medallion has Heriz echoes. The soft blue-grey and oyster tonality make it totally au courant decoratively.
