Vintage Persian Gabbeh Accent Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Larger than the usual Gabbeh rugs, this thick pile piece features a red field supporting an all-over pattern of large stepped and linked lozenges, with smaller floating lozenges and rosettes situated between the columns. Inner border of reciprocal triangles in near black and straw. Main ecru border with lozenge chains resembling, but smaller than, those of the field.
