Vintage Persian Heriz Room Size Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This later Heriz follows earlier protocols exactly, with a red field centered by a navy octogrammed medallion and an ivory-outlined octogrammed sub-medallion. Escutcheon pendants are outlined in navy. The conjoint ecru corners feature inward-pointing green and red corner palmettes. The navy strip-style border includes double bent-leaf squares grasping rosettes, palmettes, and stars. A strong example of relatively modern work that continues hallowed traditions. It has a moderate weave.
