A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This city carpet features an unusual stepped allover diamond lattice, enclosing various floral motifs on a rust-red ground, without a medallion or corner pieces, which is atypical for its type. It shows some wear, however. The border displays slate-colored rectangular palmettes and characteristic Joshegan paired right-angle bent leaves. Ivory guard borders with repeating floral posy motifs.
