A vintage Persian Malayer rug. The graphite ground displays an overall disjoint pattern of ‘fish’ leaves and small lozenges, and supports a central, end to end tall sand octagon enclosing a light buff stepped cartouche medallion. The straw border of this unusual -geometric rural scatter from western Persia features a thoroughly reduced turtle palmette pattern.
