A vintage Persian Malayer rug. This west Persian village scatter has a pattern of a central column of rayed lozenges more often seen on longer Malayer kenares. The slate ground is set within fringed straw corners and presents rosettes, jagged ‘fish’ leaves, and lesser lozenges. The rusty buff minors with their matching undulating vines flank a sand major stripe with ragged pyramidal palmettes with slate outlines.
