A wool pile of symmetrical knots on a cotton foundation. This is a relatively rare scatter version of the 'Mahalayer' type, featuring a brown field adorned with a central octogram, ragged rotating rosettes, ragged palmettes, and lazy, paramecium-like medallions. The narrow ecru border is decorated with balloon palmettes and rosettes.
