A vintage Persian Mashad carpet. The rich mulberry field is abrashed lighter at one end of this city NE Persian curvilinear room size carpet. The field sports a ‘Shah ‘Abbas’ design of cloud bands, palmettes in various attitudes, and an organizing two layer, large lattice vinery trellis. The navy border features in and out palmettes and complex arabesques, many of the border palmettes are filled in with ecru.
