Vintage Persian Pictorial Afshar Accent Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation features a central beige lion with an arrowhead-patterned pelt, standing on long legs between two black lions positioned sideways. A column of five small lions decorates the red field, while additional small lions, birds, and rosette knots serve as filler and form partial implicit borders. The main border, in ecru, is decorated with reversing fan palmettes. The central lion has a human face, and there is a slight reduction at the ends.
