A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The same pattern fills both the border and the field, featuring a thick lattice of vertical, horizontal, and diagonal bars and round lobes on an ecru ground, in a tinker-toy design. This pattern became popular in the area during the immediate post-war period and does not appear on any truly antique pieces. However, it is both rigorous and elegant.
