A wool pile with symmetric knots on a wool foundation. Large Kars carpets in semi-Caucasian geometric patterns are a relatively recent discovery, with nearly all being vintage. The deep brown-red abrashed field displays two columns of loosely drawn octagons, along with a pair of hooked and divided diamonds. Similar diamonds are set between the columns, while the base is framed by a plain cream strip. The borders feature a continuous zigzag design, with minor borders decorated with rows of triangles. In the octagons, chocolate and red serve as important accent colors.
