A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This incredibly bold rustic piece has three columns each of three hooked octagons uniformly enclosing thick, hooked crosses, in panels of ecru and green, on a rich red ground. Small herringbone flowers fill in and stars run across the upper and lower borders. Moderate weave. Side borders presently lacking, but nonetheless a very striking and powerful creation.
