A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This very unusual Heriz village piece shows a warm madder red field divided into sixteen horizontal bands, each with offset running design of small, diamonds with side flaps and sometimes bottom extensions. Looks like a repeating textile pattern. Dark indigo blue strip style main border with ashiks and guls, and doubly bent leaves. Probably a singleton production.
