A Wool pile with symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The abrashed red field features two columns, each with seven octagonal Turkmen-style motifs, characterized by radiating Turkish/Turkmen-inspired elements, and small hooked lozenge-shaped minor guls between. The narrow green border includes a partially fringed trapezoidal meander. The rug has a solid, thick, and heavy construction. Kars weavers modify any rug pattern as long as it has a geometric aspect, drawing from Turkish, Turkmen, or Caucasian designs. They aren’t particularly fussy.
