An antique Persian Bibikabad rug. There are relatively few antique Bibikabad scatters. This one has a dense Herati allover pattern underlying the gently scalloped brown small pendant medallion which, like the corners, shares the Herati pattern at the same scale. The abrashed brown main border displays a simple, but effective, ribbon meander pattern. Bibikabad is a distinct village in the Greater Hamadan weaving region.
