An antique Persian Malayer carpet. With a faint nod to Joshegan carpet design, this unusual west Persian town room size carpet shows a sandy straw field decorated with two stepped brown diamonds, bud arrays, leaves passing over other motives and smaller stepped devices sprouting tiny flowers. The brick-brown main border features more three-dimensional work along with smaller, erratically stepped lozenges.
