An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. Layers of arabesque vines perfectly position a variety of palmettes and other traditional Persian floral elements on the medium-dark brown ground. The semi-Herati pattern center is small and barely noticeable, so the effect is really all over. The motives are relatively small in proportion to the carpet, giving an almost millefleurs character.
