A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation, this piece features a three-column variation of the allover 'Vase carpet' design. While it lacks the vases, it showcases a large open vinery lozenge lattice with vinery volutes, complemented by columns of secondary rosettes and tilted oval palmettes that unify the design, all set against a slate-colored ground. The buff stripe-style border is adorned with palmettes and amphora-shaped tilted irises. The carpet has a short, brisk pile and is a well-woven example of city craftsmanship.
