This piece features a wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The seafoam green field showcases a floating, allover pattern in ecru, inspired by 19th-century Heriz/Bakshayesh carpets, especially in the borders, with the addition of sketchy leaves. The pattern is accented by two types of gul medallions. The inner border features a Persianate design of slanted leaves and squared rosettes, while the main frame is adorned with stormy cloudheads. An interesting and successful stylistic mix.
