A wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This finely knotted urban pictorial depicts the Achaemenid platform and the ruins of Persepolis in Fars Province. The scene is a collage of various ruined structures, including the Great Staircase and the gateway to the Treasury. The near-black border features rhytons, winged bulls, warrior figures, and two Ahuramazda symbols.
