Cotton asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. All-cotton pile rugs are primarily an Indian creation, with most originating in Agra. In this piece, the sand-colored field features a bold, large-scale diamond lattice, cleverly adapted from Caucasian Zeychur rugs. The brown border displays ecru cartouches and four-legged octagons. Cotton pile rugs are cooler than wool pile pieces, making them ideal for the hot and humid Indian summers.
