A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Instead of the usual Mina Khani allover field, the powder ground is uniformly covered by an up-and-down allover nested palmette pattern. Larger and lesser palmettes are grouped into cruciform repeating elements, and are supported by smaller leaves, rosettes and stems. The red border of this urban Veramin shows turtle palmettes alternating with lotus palmettes.
