The field and border share both a brown basic tone and a knobby lattice pattern of rosettes and bars diagonal and flat. Easy to weave, easy to remember for a weaver. Once you start, innovation is unneeded and change is unnecessary. This simplified pattern and palette appears mostly on long rugs and runner, but not on scatters or room sizes.
