A vintage Persian Tabriz Pictorial rug. This finely woven small rug depicts the ruins of the Blue Mosque in Tabriz, built in the 13th/14th centuries and famous for its tile decoration. The wrecked building is silhouetted against a pale blue sky, lightening at the horizon line. A dark brown border of ivory arabesque open palmettes makes a picture frame.
