A vintage Persian Kerman Pictorial rug. Layla confronts the emaciated Majnun, surrounded by his tame animals and seated beneath a weeping willow tree (Bid Majnun), on the sandy ground, with a herdsman, flock, birds and a tribal tent all to the left. The fine weave indicates that it is an urban creation, although the drawing is rather naïve.
