A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. A visual pair to rug # 28091. Five dervishes, wearing tall hats and equipped with kashkul (begging bowls) and ceremonial axes, sit within a brickwork interior, discussing a text in an open book. An arched niche in the brickwork contains an open window, and above them hangs a lamp for illumination; before them lies another, closed book. Four of the dervishes are bearded, while the younger figure sits at the right. A calligraphic panel in nastaliq appears below.
