A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation, signed by the weavers Yilmaz and Sidik. The open rust-red field is divided vertically, with each half displaying a pole medallion of four strongly stepped salmon-colored diamonds, each with a hexagon center. An ecru central dividing line with double serrated edges separates the two halves, while a narrow brown main border features a geometric flowering meander. The influence of Caucasian Kazak design is evident, as Kars has been weaving Kazak-type rugs for two centuries.
